Irshad al-Sari is a profound classical commentary written by the renowned Islamic scholar Mulla Ali al-Qari (رحمہ اللہ). Rich in spiritual insight, scholarly depth, and practical wisdom, the book serves as both a commentary and a guide for personal transformation through devotion and connection with the Sunnah.
One remarkable section of the book narrates an inspiring incident where a wrongfully imprisoned individual was blessed with a dream-vision (ziyarah) of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ taught him seventy (70) unique phrases of Istighfar (seeking forgiveness), with instructions to recite ten each day, starting from Friday and ending on Thursday. Upon following this blessed prescription, the prisoner was miraculously granted freedom by Allah’s mercy. It is also mentioned that Sayyiduna Ali (رضي الله عنه) used to recite these supplications each morning.
This anecdote is a beautiful example of divine relief through spiritual practices and highlights the significance of Istighfar in one’s daily life
